Sunday 18th November LIVE – The Lippy Edit

Okay ladies it’s time to pucker up and get lip ready!

I used to shy away from lip colour as I never wanted my lips to stand out. I have always been a less is more girl and opted for a more natural look. I think this really has stemmed from my childhood where I was called names for having full lips. Oh how I laugh now as people are paying good money for bigger lips.  I am finally owing the fact that I have got big lips!

With that I have started to experiment with more lip colours ranging from bright reds to dark berries. It’s all about trying something new and having fun.

Sometimes all you need for an outfit to have that wow factor is a bold lip so you can work that old wardrobe.

This year on the runway we have seen a real natural vibe with the make up looks but we also saw strong lips featured on the Alexander McQueen and Rochas runway.

The other key to wearing your lips well is to prep your lips with a scrub. This is something I have learnt over the years working as a model.

You do this by making up your own scrub at home using :

1 tablespoon coconut oil

1 tablespoon honey

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1/2 tablespoon lukewarm water

Mix together the coconut oil and honey.

Add in the sugar and lukewarm water.

Rub the mixture on to your lips in a circular motion for a few minutes.

Rinse off with lukewarm water.

You can also buy ready made scrubs :

Lush honey lip scrub

Barry M lip scrub

Hydrating lip gels

Lip gloss

(the colour that was featured in the LIVE has been linked)

Hot Lips Super Cindy Lipstick

Superstay matte ink lipstick

I have several of these in different colours and I think that I may be slightly obsessed. They stay on so well and the intensity of the colours are great.

Tint-In-Balm

These are brilliant for that no make look, giving your lips a little tint of colour with a very natural shimmer.

Metallic lipstick

Nude lip colour

2 – 1 lipstick liner

When wearing a red lip, I would always recommend wearing a liner as it keeps the look clean  and defined as well as stopping that bleed you can get from a red lipstick.

Lip paint lacquer

Natural Vegan lipstick

Burt’s Bees Lipstick

Red Lips – Pretty Things Goody Bag

Velvet Matt liquid lipstick

Crushed lip colour
